Mack Trucks opens facility in Salem, Virginia. The brand invested $13 billion in the facility, which will bring 250 jobs to the Roanoke Valley area.
Production of a new truck, the Mack MD, will take place in the facility. The Mack MD is a medium-duty truck marketed to small businesses. This is the first automobile project from prototype to production for the state of Virginia. The investment of the facility and MD is estimated to make an impact of $364 million a year.
Commercial production for the truck is set for Summer 2020.
