A kart race team won first place at the 20th annual Seaside Le Mans charity race. Advantage Truck Group along with Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod, Nauset Disposal, and Axial Benefits Group, sponsored the winning team. Held on September 11, 2021, the race raised over $700,000 for several Cape Cod charitable organizations.
Additionally, the charity event featured teams of six drivers of Formula One European-style racing karts. The teams competed in a four-hour endurance race on a quarter-mile outdoor track throughout Mashpee Commons. Further, team sponsors chose their own teams; Advantage Truck Group, Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod, Nauset Disposal, and Axial Benefits Group donated their driver seats to the Mashpee Police and Fire Department.
This year’s Seaside Le Mans also featured a September 11th remembrance ceremony.
“The event is all about community, coming together as one, and giving back,” says Advantage Truck Group marketing manager Sarah Harrington. “Since 2015, we have participated in Seaside Le Mans and sponsored a team of first responders. It truly is an honor to support their continuous bravery and sacrifice within our communities. We couldn’t think of a more deserving team to win on the 20th anniversary of September 11th.”
The first Seaside Le Mans charity race in 2001 was held just four days after the attacks of September 11th. The event has raised more than $8 million since its inception.
