Samsara, pioneer of the Connected Operations Cloud, which harnesses data to develop business insights, held its second annual Samsara Beyond conference in Austin, Texas, last month. The conference gathered together leaders and innovators across industries that keep the global economy on the move. At the conference, Samsara announced new innovations aimed to further improve operational efficiency and safety of frontline workers and fleet drivers. Read below for more.
Using technology within fleet operations helps improve efficiency, customer satisfaction, driver safety, and more. Yet with all the technology offerings and the immense data collection and analysis, it’s easy to become overwhelmed. That’s where Samsara comes in. The company analyzes data in its Connected Operations Cloud platform to help fleets make sense of all the data collected from their drivers, their fleet vehicles, each trip made, and more.
To better improve its platform, Samsara announced innovations designed to help the worker experience. These digital tools include Virtual Coach, Mobile Experience Management, Smart Trailer and Asset Tracking solutions, and Data Connectors.
INNOVATION BREAKDOWN
Mobile Experience Management (MEM)
Samsara’s MEM offers workers in the field a lifeline, instead of a distraction, through mobile devices. MEM simplifies mobile management so that workers remain connected, productive, and safe. MEM offers field employees customized support, such as remote training and troubleshooting, through their mobile device, while minimizing unnecessary digital distractions.
Virtual Coach
Virtual Coach improves road safety by empowering drivers to self-coach directly from the Samsara Driver App. Managers can also personalize coaching experiences at scale, which helps improve both road safety and driver retention and engagement.
Smart Trailer and Asset Tracking
Using next-generation Asset Gateways, Samsara connects and extends trailer and asset data, such as usage, location, and temperature, to produce better operational outcomes. Samsara offers a “Find My Asset” feature that helps managers quickly find lost or stolen assets, even while unpowered. Further, a new integration with Thermo King’s TracKing Telematics allows customers to monitor and remotely control their Thermo King reefers from the Samsara dashboard.
Data Connectors
Because Samsara focuses on connectivity, it stresses integrations among multiple OEM and telematics platforms. Adding to its integrations this year are FiveTran, Kafka, and Power BI. With the integration, Samsara easily streams data to power business applications and workflows. This visibility empowers organizations to make data-driven decisions and improve the bottom line.
