TRUCBRUSH RECEIVES SBANE INNOVATION AWARD

TrucBrush Corporation joins the Smaller Business Association of New England (SBANE) Circle of Excellence, class of 2016, as the winner of the ‘Rising Star’ Innovation Award. The company was recognized for its patented mobile device called TrucBrush® and service methodology to clear snow off truck, trailer, bus, and container rooftops prior to transit.

The polypropylene-bristled device quickly connects to and is powered by a front-end loader, making it a fast, effective, and safe method capable of being outsourced to a snow service vendor. TrucBrush Corporation was one of 188 nominees narrowed down to 50 semi-finalists, before moving to a second judging of 20 finalists who presented to 66 judges during phase two of the competition. Of the 20 finalists, four winners were chosen in the “Profit” category, two in the “Non-Profit” category, and two as ‘Rising Stars.’

TrucBrush clears snow and icy debris in approximately one minute from a tractor-trailer and 30 seconds for a typical box truck. “TrucBrush is quick, easy, and very effective. The savings we have gained from significantly reducing down time due to snow clearing has made this investment well worth it,” says Jarod Warsofsky of Boston Trailer.

TrucBrush® is manufactured in the United States and sold throughout North America.

AMERIFLEET WHITE PAPER HELPS CUSTOMERS IDENTIFY PERFECT LOGISTICS PARTNER

Looking to help Work Truck owners easily identify the best potential logistics partner, the team at AmeriFleet has recently published a white paper entitled: “Six Things To Look For In A Superior Work Truck Logistics Partner.”

As a part of the Alpharetta-based fleet logistics provider’s recent initiative to “ramp up” efforts in the space, the paper overviews AmeriFleet’s ability to significantly maximize a work truck owner’s return on investment.

Recognizing that idle work trucks—or those in transit—can cost owners up to $1,200 a day in lost revenue, AmeriFleet has combined a variety of services into a solution it thinks work truck owners should strongly consider. Centered around reducing the time it takes to transport a newly-upfitted work truck, the solutions cut traditional deployment times by a third. Perhaps equally important, AmeriFleet can properly license and title any work truck in transit, furthering reducing downtime and maximizing revenues.

The paper—just one in a series—is part of AmeriFleet’s aggressive new work truck-themed marketing campaign, including new advertising, a new trade show booth, social media focus, and collateral package. The company—which pioneered the modern fleet logistics industry a generation ago—also recently added industry veteran Toni Minchev as director of sales, focused on the work truck space.

PREMIER OE AUTOMOTIVE PARTS MANUFACTURERS BEGIN NEW SERVICE-EDU TRAINING PROGRAM

SERVICE-EDU is a new training program for professional automotive service and repair technicians from four premier OE automotive parts manufacturers: Gates, MAHLE, NGK Spark Plugs, and Timken. Training will be held at regional Universal Technical Institute (UTI) campus locations across the United States.

These well-respected name brands have joined forces to offer training on component and system failures, as well as how technicians can properly diagnose and efficiently replace worn parts. These four companies will collectively supply the aftermarket with tens of thousands of SKUs, representing 25 different types of parts in nine product categories.

SERVICE-EDU is a joint effort to provide more value to technicians by offering training in multiple product categories during a single training event. Each manufacturer’s training courses, focused on their category of expertise, include classroom and hands-on instruction on proper system troubleshooting, advanced service techniques, and component replacement.

The four companies believe that relationships between manufacturers and service technicians help provide shop owners with peace of mind in knowing that their technicians are being trained by the very best trainers in the industry.

SERVICE-EDU will kick off the first year of its two-day training programs on April 29-30 at the UTI Campus in Avondale, Arizona; May 13-14 at the UTI Dallas/Fort Worth Campus in Irving, Texas; September 16-17 at the UTI Campus in Lisle, Illinois; and October 21-22 At the NASCAR Technical Institute Campus in Mooresville, North Carolina. DAYTON AIR SUSPENSION INTRODUCES TRAILER SAFETY SOLUTION

Dayton Air Suspension announces the launch of Night-Lites, an auxiliary safety and backup lighting system for trailers. The product is designed to promote safety on the road and at loading/unloading docks. Able to prevent trailer, tire, and dock damage and save drivers and trucking companies time, it is intended for use in conjunction with safety tips Dayton is suggesting. These include following the tires, checking blind spots, driving carefully, paying attention to motorists, and following proper procedures for parked and out of service trucks.

A high percentage of claims are incidents resulting from when the vehicle is backing up, according to insurance companies. Backing up is tricky for truck drivers and is involved in the highest-frequency of incidents. One reason is drivers often use the mirrors to aim the truck, but mirrors don’t show where the truck is going. Nite-Lites can help reduce the risk but are not a guarantee in this instance. Truck drivers, therefore, need to follow other procedures to maximize safety.

Night-Lites generate little heat and have minimal voltage drop. Instant activation also improves safety and reduces the risks of injuries, fatalities, and equipment damage.
