PACCAR MX engines power the Kenworth W990. Designed to meet the demands of heavy-duty truck applications is the 12.9-L PACCAR MX-13 that delivers up to 510 hp and 1,850 lb-ft of torque at 1,000 rpm. The PACCAR MX-11 delivers 335-450 hp and 1,150-1,650 lb-ft of torque. So go ahead, move those large payloads with incredible ease, even up mountains.
It’s important to Kenworth that the brand’s machines run smoothly and seamlessly—so Kenworth also chooses PACCAR power for the transmission and axles. A 12-speed automatic PACCAR transmission shifts the gears in the W990 and is the lightest 1,850 lb-ft torque capable heavy-duty automated transmission on the market. It also requires half as much oil as comparable automated transmissions. And the truck rests on PACCAR axles with a GCW of 80,000 lbs.
