BYD Discontinues Gas-only Auto Line to Focus on PHEV and Pure Electric Tech

BYD (Build Your Dreams) announced it stopped the production of automobiles powered only by gasoline. Its final gasoline model rolled off the assembly line in March. Further, the China-based automaker will now focus on battery-electric vehicles, including battery-electric cars, trucks, and plug-in hybrids, company officials say.

However, BYD will continue producing and supplying internal combustion vehicle components to provide comprehensive service and after-sales support to existing customers.

BYD remains committed to building low-carbon as well as efficient green New Energy vehicles; it continues as a partner in the fight against Global Climate Change.
