Mack Trucks continues its longstanding support of the Concrete Industry Management (CIM) program with the donation of a 2021 Mack® Granite® mixer for the annual CIM Auction June 9 during World of Concrete 2021 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Mack will accept bids on the Mack Granite during the silent and live auctions. All proceeds will benefit the CIM program’s mission to develop the next generation of leaders within the concrete industry.
Tim Wrinkle, Mack construction product manager, says Mack is proud to support the CIM program again. Mack understands the value that CIM offers students, preparing them for the demands of the concrete industry, Wrinkle says.
THE TRUCK
The donated Mack Granite Axle Forward model bridge formula mixer is powered by a 375-hp Mack MP®7-395C engine, delivering 1,360 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with a 14-speed Mack mDRIVE™ HD automated manual transmission with ultra-low ratio creeper gears and Mack front and rear axles. Paired with the Granite and rugged Mack Cornerstone™ chassis is a donated McNeilus FLEX Controls Bridgemaster Mixer. The mixer features an 11-cu-yd M80 Series drum.
Additionally, Mack GuardDog® Connect is standard on the Granite model. GuardDog Connect allows customers to make unlimited driver-activated software and parameter updates. This feature is also standard through the Mack Over The Air remote programming solution, improving uptime and simplifying the update process.
Finally, Mack backs its Granite model with a 60-month/250,000-mile Mack Engine Plan 2 extended warranty. Mack will also deliver the auctioned Granite model free to anywhere in the contiguous US with all Federal Excise Tax paid.
“Once again Mack Trucks and McNeilus have demonstrated their industry leadership by donating the signature item for the 2021 CIM Auction,” says Ben Robuck, CIM Auction Committee Chairman. “Their continued support speaks volumes to their commitment to the concrete industry and the importance these leading companies place on the CIM program’s role in developing the future leaders of our industry. This mixer truck will help ensure a successful CIM Auction at the 2021 World of Concrete.”
THE FUNDRAISER
The annual auction is the primary fundraiser for CIM programs, supporting the current programs as well as helping fund scholarships. The business-intensive CIM program awards students a four-year Bachelor of Science degree in Concrete Industry Management. Schools that currently offer the program include: Middle Tennessee State University; New Jersey Institute of Technology; California State University – Chico; Texas State University; and South Dakota State University. CIM also offers an Executive MBA program for individuals with industry experience. Today, nearly 1,400 graduates of the CIM program work in the industry.
