In a significant step toward an electrified transport future, Morgan Truck Body collaborates with SEA Electric as well as longtime Morgan-authorized distributor Central Trailer Service to fulfill orders for 40 EV truck bodies by year-end 2022.
Tom Diez, Morgan Truck Body vice president, sales and marketing, says it takes collaboration to bring this project to fruition. Morgan Truck Body appreciates working with the companies to support the demand for EV fleets in North America, he says. Further, “Morgan will continue to provide the most innovative and technologically advanced commercial truck body solutions,” Diez says.
The truck chassis features the zero-emission SEA Electric SEA-Drive® Power System with a 1,106 lb-ft electric motor. It’s combined with a 138kWh battery pack and also upfitted with Morgan’s lightweight Aluminum Dry Freight Body and enhanced safety features. These features include a back-up camera as well as bright LED lighting.
Mike Menyhart, SEA Electric president, Americas and chief strategy officer, says years of research and growth make the deal possible. The deal proves SEA Electric is on track to become number one in terms of electrifying fleets worldwide, Menyhart says.
Brad Bailey, Central Trailer Service vice president, says the decision to partner with Morgan Truck body was obvious.
