Peterbilt Technician Institute Graduates Historic 75th Class

The Peterbilt Technician Institute (PTI) program celebrated a the graduation ceremony of its 75th class of students. Eleven newly certified diesel technicians join PTI graduates currently in the workplace at Peterbilt service locations across North America. PTI students compete a 12-week training program with a blend of hands-on and online learning. Additionally, students use the latest tools and techniques to diagnose, repair, and maintain Peterbilt’s best-in-class products.

“The Peterbilt dealer network has a growing demand for entry-level, qualified, diesel technicians, and PTI is a unique answer to that demand,” Brian Brooks, program manager for the Peterbilt Technician Institute, says. “This is a win-win, as our service centers get qualified technicians and our graduates have the opportunity to turn their initial dealer assignment into a long-term career.”

Since its launch, the PTI program has graduated more than 745 factory-certified technicians. It boasts a 95% placement rate at a Peterbilt service location. Each PTI student earns 13 Peterbilt certifications as well as certifications for both the PACCAR MX-11 and MX-13 engines. PTI is a collaborative program with Universal Technical Institute.
