Chevrolet’s 2016 Express 4500 Cutaway, known for its versatility, flexibility, and durability, offers two wheelbase options. The 4500, available in dual rear-wheel, has a GVWR of 14,200 lbs. Its wheelbase options include 159- and 177-inch chassis. Its full-length body-on-frame can accommodate several upfit types, allowing you to customize a body according to what fits your fleet needs. And, the Cutaway’s available isolated second battery can add the power you need, when you need it.
The Cutaway comes with a few advanced tech options to help you cover your assets, including five years of OnStar Basic Plan, OnStar 4G LTE with built-in Wi-Fi® hotspot, and available radio with Chevrolet MyLink and Navigation that includes Bluetooth®. The Cutaway is also covered by Chevrolet Complete Care, which includes two maintenance visits.
UNDER THE HOOD
Always prepared to offer you options, Chevrolet doesn’t disappoint with the Express 4500 Cutaway. The V8 6.0-liter gas engine offers 342 hp at 5,400 rpm and 373 lb-ft of torque at 4,400 rpm with electronic fuel injection, heavy-duty 6-speed automatic transmission, and rear-wheel drive.
According to Chevrolet, “Backing the engine’s quietness is the assurance of long-lasting performance. The engine family was validated under extreme conditions, with the 6.0-liter engine featuring many long-life engine components that can reduce maintenance intervals and costs. The iridium-tip spark plugs, engine coolant, accessory drive belt, and sealing gaskets are some of these items.”
“Some of the stringent durability testing,” continues Chevrolet, “includes actual grade vehicle tow testing, as well as cycling engines between the peak torque and peak hp rpm points—that simulates towing a heavy trailer up a steep grade.”
All Cutaway models also feature an independent short-long arm (SLA) front suspension, power steering, and four-wheel disc brakes, four-wheel anti-lock, and rear hypoid drive axle and multi-leaf springs. Additional chassis and suspension features include a locking rear differential available on all models and axle ratios of 3.42, 3.54, 3.73, and 4.10.

BODY FEATURES
The Cutaway offers several features for comfort and accessibility, such as its Convenience Package, which includes tilt-wheel and cruise control. Select standard safety features include front air bags with passenger-side deactivation switch; PASS-Key III theft-deterrent system; driver and front-passenger high-back bucket seats with head restraints; and black, rubberized-vinyl floor covering. Standard amenities include storage console with three cup holders, two 12V power outlets, and a 120V power outlet; tow/haul mode selector; and AM/FM stereo with MP3 player, available USB port, seek-and-scan, digital clock, and two front-door speakers.
If you find yourself wanting more, there are additional, optional features available, including head/side-curtain air bags; Chevrolet MyLink radio with navigation, 6.5-inch diagonal color touch-screen display, AM/FM stereo with CD player that includes Bluetooth audio streaming for music and select phones, voice-activated technology for radio and phone, and hands-free smartphone integration with Pandora® and Stitcher™ SmartRadio. Also available as add-ons are the brake-warning indicator, rear vision camera, remote vehicle start, and OnStar Guidance Plan.
Chevrolet’s MyLink radio with navigation includes a 6.5-inch diagonal color touch-screen display.
MECHANICAL FEATURES
Not all standard features are on the inside, however. The Cutaway offers an Oil Life Monitoring System; brake/transmission shift interlock for automatic transmissions; battery with rundown protection and retained accessory power; independent front suspension; four-wheel anti-lock disc brake system; heavy-duty LED flasher; front intermittent wet-arm windshield wipers; daytime running lamps; and LT225/75R16E all-season tires.
