The United States Postal Service (USPS) awarded Utilimaster® a $53 million contract for 447 Utilimaster bodies for bulk mail delivery. Utilimaster delivers dependable, efficient utility vehicles specifically designed to meet customers’ exacting requirements and help them reach their business goals. This USPS order is in addition to a previous $214 million multi-year contract for more than 2,000 vehicles. Utilimaster fulfilled the previous contract during the third quarter of 2019.
“For more than 40 years, Utilimaster has been designing and manufacturing purpose-built parcel delivery vehicles that improve delivery efficiencies and driver ergonomics and safety,” says Daryl Adams, president and CEO of The Shyft Group. “We take great pride in delivering on our promises and in providing high-quality fleets to our customers.”
Utilimaster will build the USPS order on both cab-over and cab-behind chassis, featuring 18- and 24-ft-long bodies. Utilimaster expects to manufacture the order during the second quarter of 2022 and will be completed in 2023.
