VMAC Named Manufacturing Business of the Year at the 21st Business Excellence Awards

VMAC received Manufacturing Business of the Year award at the 21st Annual Grant Thornton LLP Vancouver Island Business Excellence Awards.

“This award speaks to the heart of our organization, recognizing our manufacturing expertise and leadership on Vancouver Island, providing value to businesses and the community as a whole,” says Gordon Duval, VMAC’s vice president of marketing and sales. “This award is true recognition of our entire VMAC team.”

An independent judging panel selects the winners of the Grant Thornton LLP Business Excellence Awards. The judges are business professionals with decades of business experience as well as economic development, consulting, accounting, not-for-profits, and start-ups.

“To be named Manufacturer of the Year after two challenging pandemic years is a testament to the efforts of VMAC’s entire team and our innovative in-house manufacturing capabilities,” explains Stuart Coker, director of operations at VMAC. “For example, supply chain issues have created lead times on small combustion engines that extend for months, but at VMAC, our UNDERHOOD™ systems only rely on our hardworking teams and machinery, and we can ship these air compressors to customers in under two weeks.”

Additionally, the Business Examiner Media Group presented the 2022 Business Excellence Awards. The program covered nominations for the last two years, as the event was canceled in 2021. The event included 72 finalists in 17 categories. VMAC won the Manufacturer of the Year in 2018 and 2019 and named Business of the Year in 2020.
