Work Truck Week 2025

NTEA – The Work Truck Association’s Work Truck Week 2025 took place March 4 to 7, at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis. This year, a new attendance record was set, with 16,413 industry professionals from 31 countries, and all 50 states attending the show. With 549 companies exhibiting this year, it made the trade show a sell out. Work Truck Week this year included The Work Truck Show, Green Truck Summit, NTEA Annual Meeting, a ride and drive, educational program, and much more. 

“The commercial vehicle industry certainly showed up in Indianapolis this year,” says Steve Carey, president and CEO, NTEA. “With new products on every aisle, impressive engagement in educational sessions and lively networking events, we couldn’t have asked for a better week. People were excited to be there and are already actively looking forward to next year. Even before we closed the doors on Work Truck Week 2025, many company representatives were sharing their plans for product introductions and suggestions for new educational sessions at Work Truck Week 2026.”

GREEN TRUCK SUMMIT KICKS OFF WTW

Kicking off the show was the Green Truck Summit, NTEA’s full-day advanced vehicle and fuel technology conference on March 4. The summit welcomed 715 participants to the full-day immersion into advanced commercial vehicle technology. Jennifer Brace, chief futurist for Ford Motor Company, delivered a keynote address, which was designed to help attendees develop a framework to better prepare their operations for the future. Key highlights of the summit included strategies to achieve zero-emission targets, work truck industry perspectives on technology adoption, clean technology updates, and understanding of automation and commercial vehicles.

SESSIONS, RECEPTIONS, AND KEYNOTES

Basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski was the keynote speaker at the NTEA Annual Meeting on March 6. “Coach K” was the head men’s basketball coach for Duke University (1980–2022). Also, industry professionals networked at the Opening Reception, Generation Next Leadership Workshop & Networking Reception. The Commercial Vehicle Data Exchange & Reception had information for professionals interested in uncovering and expanding the commercial vehicle industry’s data ecosystem. 

The educational program ran March 4 to 6 and included a range of special sessions and breakout sessions to help companies plan and enhance operational growth. Key topics covered industry trends, vehicle engineering and compliance, government regulations, exclusive updates from 15 chassis OEMs, workforce development, fleet management, vehicle propulsion and sustainability solutions. 

PRODUCT LAUNCHES

New commercial vehicle bodies, propulsion systems, and equipment were among the dozens of products, technology and services launching at Work Truck Week 2025. 

Some of the announcements to take place at WTW were: Vanair showcases expanded work truck solutions, Miller announces all-new HDI Air Pak Series, Safe Fleet announces integration into the Clarience Technologies Safety Solutions Segment,  Weather Guard discusses work vehicle solutions and upcoming product launches, Adrian Steel reveals next generation shelving and accessories,  M.H. Eby announces Authorized Ford Chassis Bailment Pool award and new service van body, Legend unveils BedBoss, Palfinger announces expansion of bucket truck portfolio with new cable placer, VMAC and Stealth Power unveil e30 battery electric powered rotary screw air compressor, Bedslide unveils lightweight rolling tray system, and Morgan Truck Body announces grand opening of online parts store. Meanwhile, J.B. Poindexter and Co. celebrated its 40th year, and The Shyft Group celebrated its 50th anniversary,

OEMs also made a variety of announcements, as Ram showed new 2025 products, including 3500, 4500, and 5500 Chassis Cabs; 2500 and 3500 Heavy Duty; ProMaster EV; and ProMaster. Cummins unveiled the B7.2 diesel engine for medium-duty applications. Ford Pro launched LocateFordWorkTrucks.com and announced a 40 percent increase in connected commercial vehicles in the last two years, and Work Truck Solutions partnered with Ford Pro to power commercial vehicle locator.

RIDE AND DRIVE

The Work Truck Week Ride & Drive saw hundreds of WTW attendees drive 20 vehicles from Class 2 to 8 on March 5 and 6. The ride and drive has a dedicated drive route though downtown Indianapolis in electric vans, trucks and chassis, and a variety of internal combustion engine vehicles.

The vehicles available to test drive included:

  • Vehicle equipped with Allison nine-speed fully automatic transmission;
  • Truck equipped with Allison Regional Haul Series fully automatic transmission;
  • Battle Motors fully electric City Tractor;
  • Blue Arc battery-powered Class 4 truck for high frequency last-mile delivery;
  • Blue Bird prototype electric Class 5–6 chassis for last-mile delivery;
  • Bollinger Motors B4 custom-configurable Class 4 chassis cab truck;
  • Vehicle equipped with DC Modification’s Extended Day Cab with special features;
  • Ford Pro Ford F-150 Lightning Pro electric pickup;
  • International eMV Series 25,999-pound non-CDL GVWR truck;
  • Isuzu NRR EV Class 5 low-cab-forward battery electric truck;
  • Kenworth T280 medium-duty truck with PACCAR 325-hp PX-7 engine;
  • Mack medium-duty Class 6 MD6 and Class 7 MD7 trucks;
  • Mercedes-Benz USA fully electric eSprinter full-size van;
  • Peterbilt Model 536 pickup and delivery, and vocational applications medium-duty truck;
  • Truck fitted with PSC Dynamic Damping Stabilizer system for some Ford F-Series and Ram trucks;
  • RAM Professional ProMaster commercial van powered by 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 ICE engine;
  • REE Automotive REE P7-C electric Class 5 truck with certified X-by-wire design;
  • Rivian Commercial full-size van powered by a 320-hp battery-electric motor;
  • Workhorse W56 electric vehicle for last-mile delivery; and
  • Zeus Class 5 electric chassis cab.
